A child of the 60‘s herself, Pat Price selected this Simon classic set in the revolutionary sixties to direct.
The action centers on Andy and Norman who are committed to putting out a “protest” magazine. When Sophie Raushmeyer, an all American girl, moves into their complex Norman is completely derailed by obsessive love. Her frantic rejection of his over the top advances combine with Andy’s predicament trying to appease an overzealous land lady who demands his attentions to defer back rent payments.
All in all this is Neil Simon at his wittiest as his characters navigate the slippery slope of love, angst and craziness.
